Level 1 & Level 2 High School Floral Design Certification

TSFA is excited to announce a new option for Level 1 and Level 2 Certification Testing for 2021

The Texas State Florists’ Assn. is developing a platform that will offer students to Level 1 and Level 2 certification test in the classroom, proctored by the Floral Design Teacher.  This platform is similar to the current testing application, however, the Floral Design Teacher will be able to schedule the testing date, proctor the test in the classroom, upload the photos using an iPhone, iPod, iPad  (not android).  The student’s designs will be graded by the TSFA Education Specialists using the 2020 Rubrics located at tsfa.org.

The Level 1 and Level 2 Floral Certification Virtual Testing Platform is scheduled for November 1, 2020.

Where allowed, during this current social distancing situation,
TSFA will also schedule in-person certification testing.

Please visit the Teacher Link at tsfa.org for in-person certification tests.
More information will follow.  Please telephone the Texas State Florists’ Assn. at 512.528.0806 or email caroles@tsfa.org.

IMPORTANT: TSFA is working diligently to schedule the Hands-On portion of the Level 1 and Level 2 High School Certification.  We appreciate your patience while we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic.  All Spring classes for 2020 have been cancelled.  TSFA is planning for the fall semester and are in development of new ways to get students certified during this time and prepared for a career in Floral Design.

The Texas State Florists’ Association is sad about postponing; however, the safety and well-being of our guests and communities is our top priority. Out of precaution, the TSFA Board of Directors have decided that this is the best course of action for our members and the communities the events were scheduled.

We look forward to the remainder of the 2020 Texas Floral Events to continue to promote education to the Texas floral industry. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.  Please don't hesitate to contact TSFA at 512.528.0806 with any questions or concerns.  Check back for more updates.

This certification program allows school districts to provide more value to their diploma and helps provide young, enthusiastic floral designers to meet the retail florist needs!

Requirements for the certification were enrollment and completion of the year long Texas Education Agency approved floral design curriculum and passing a TSFA approved written exam and the design of two floral pieces in a timed setting.
