Texas State Florists' Association Level 1 Floral Certifications have been included on the 2022-2025 Texas Education Agency (TEA) approved list of Industry Based Certifications.
TSFA Level 1 Floral Certification Teacher Proctored Testing for 2024-2025
The Texas State Florists’ Association (TSFA) has developed a platform that will enable students to test for Level 1 floral design certification in the classroom, proctored by their floral design teacher. Using TSFA's digital platform and any mobile phone or device, teachers can schedule a date to proctor their students' tests and then take and upload photos of the designs within the portal. The student’s designs will be graded by the TSFA Education Specialists using the 2024 rubrics located below. Level 2 Floral Certification is only offered in person at this time.
Virtual testing will not be offered the following dates during 2024-2025:
- November 16-28.
- December 12-30.
- February 8-16.
- April 5-6.
- April 12.
- April 17-19.
- May 3-5.

It is important that a specific time and a specific date is selected It is wise to plan three weeks in advance for testing your students to give your local wholesaler time to procure product for the testing This also provides adequate time for TSFA to create a test event that is specific to you and your school. If changes to students need to be made, please make them one week prior to the test event.
ALL TESTINGS MUST INCLUDE A REGISTRATION FORM. TSFA CANNOT ACCEPT THE SPREADSHEET ONLY!
Level 1 VIRTUAL Floral Certification Registration
- This registration includes the knowledge-based test.
Important: Please use this form and the registration spreadsheet for students who will be completing the full Level 1 floral certification, which includes both knowledge-based and hands-on testing.
COST: $85/student
Level 1 Virtual Hands-on ONLY Registration
- This registration does not include the knowledge-based test.
Important: Please use this form and the registration spreadsheet for students who have already completed the knowledge-based test and wish to complete the hands-on only portion.
COST: $75/student

Download the spreadsheet below, fill it out listing all students that will be testing; Student First Name, Student Last Name, Student Email, School Name, Teacher First Name, Teacher Last Name, Teacher Email, Teacher Phone.

- Send the completed registration form, spreadsheet and a copy of the PO back to caroles@tsfa.org.
If you are unable to obtain a PO right away, please send it as soon as it is available so TSFA may invoice for the testing.
