About TSFA

The Texas State Florists' Association (TSFA) was established in 1914. Serving the floral community in Texas for more than a century, TSFA remains the premier association for retail florists, growers, wholesalers, floral designers, floriculture teachers and students, manufacturers of floral products and supplies, brokers, shippers, importers, interior plantscapers and others who serve this vibrant industry. TSFA members — and their impact — reach well beyond the state's borders.

At the heart of TSFA's operations are actively functioning committees and a board of directors. These volunteers are dedicated to developing and implementing programs that foster member growth and professional distinction. Through its comprehensive educational programs, TSFA equips members with floral design knowledge and skills, innovative solutions to contemporary challenges and valuable professional resources. Watch for an advanced floral design curriculum and a virtual reality program to be released in 2025!

Key to TSFA's mission is its role in leading, unifying and promoting the floral industry. The association provides products and services that help prepare the next generation of floriculture leaders, generate financial savings for members and keep them appraised of the latest industry trends.

This commitment is further exemplified by TSFA's industry-leading certification programs for youth and adults. High school students across the state benefit from TSFA’s Knowledge-based, Level 1 and Level 2 Floral Design Certifications. These certifications are also offered to floriculture teachers several times per year. Industry professionals with more than three years of experience can advance their careers by earning the Texas Master Florist® (TMF) designation in Texas. This comprehensive course is offered to other state associations as the Professional Certified Florist® (PCF) program.

TSFA is also known for its floral education and networking events. Held throughout the state, these conferences, demonstrations and hands-on workshops are made possible by the generous support of Texas Floral Education Underwriters. From large events like the Texas Floral Expo to more intimate gatherings like Texas Floral Spotlight, each event is designed to benefit floral industry professionals, teachers, students and all interested in floral design, underlining the association's commitment to education and community engagement.

As TSFA carries forward its legacy of more than a century, it continually strives to cultivate member success and strengthen the floral community it proudly serves.
